Ann and Linda,
Here's what I was trying to communicate from the outset. I think if you already have a dial up account with a PC you should be able to access it with your braille note without the PC. I thought if I told Linda enough, she could set up the account. After all, as you all know, I never use a PC to get email or books or newspapers. I wanted Linda to be able to use her Braille Note, get the books in there, and unqack them. That way she could have her books and newspapers at work. Now let's see. When Linda and I were talking, I wanted to get to these options: Add a Service or what ever is the same When ever she tried access was denied. So she never saw those options to fill out: That's where the problem is. Why does she have to set up? Even when one uses the favorites option to log on, it goes to the ISp first. So there has to be a dial up set up. She can't even set up. That's the problem. She can't even get in there to set up. Now let's examine a few things. She left her serial port connected to a cable. I never did that when I had to set up something. No way. If Linda disconnected it, would it go in there? Besides, I've never had to use a serial port for dial up. Once the account is set, you log on to your service with a phone chord connected. If you choose the internet from your main menu, It will still ask for your service. An, is this clear enough? One more problem. Does 6.11 have a record button? I still have another idea, but I guess we can discuss this. Glad you're back. You can probably guess what my last solution is. It involves those cdb files. directory of services Cdb? Could that be where the probrem is? To do that we'd have to erase them and hope the system restores them. What do you think. I want Linda to get her books, but I don't want to have to buy her a whole new system either. Brenda Mueller
