Carol, I have high-speed, and I don't see any dialogue boxes about
saving as a certain type. Thanks for the suggestion though. It just
seems that it should be no big deal to make a .zip file. I know
Sendero has their GPS upgrades and their user POI files in a .zip
format, and I've never had a problem with them.

Peggy and Pam,

I noticed, when first downloading BIN files, that, probably because I'm
using AVG, in the "Save as" dialogue box there was a type selection and
this could be either AVG BIN files or all files. I chose "all". I
wonder if you have these options and if, just possibly, this may help?
Are you both on dialup?
I do hope this is soon sorted for you both.

Subject: [Braillenote] Upgrades and SMA's and no .zip files
Hi, all. Seeing this new build of Keysoft 6.2 put on the Humanware
website as a .bin file, with no alternative .zip file for those of us
who can'd download .bin files has me a little concerned. I purchased
a SMA a few weeks ago, choosing the download only option, because it
was more economical. So far, with the free builds to version 6.2, it
hasn't been a problem, because I can always ask that the file be sent
to me as a .zip file. But what will happen when we start getting the
regular upgrades? If Humanware is going to continue to put them up
as .bin files, I won't be able to download what I've paid for. Will
Humanware be putting up Keysoft 7.0 as a .zip file? Or will I have
to give someone on the list my serial number so they can download the
.bin file for me and send it to me? Or will I need to call the
office and change my SMA to one that comes on an SD card and pay the
extra money, just because I can't seem to download .bin files? I had
hoped this was going to be dealt with after the last patch, when Pam
and I both had problems downloading it and had to have it sent to us
as .zip files; but alas, this new build is just a .bin file. I'm
just feeling a bit disappointed at being unable to access the files
I'm entitled to, and seeing that nothing has changed in how they're
put on the website, despite lots of emails going back and forth about
this just a couple months ago.
Okay, I'll get off my soapbox and continue to brainstorm about ways
to get .bin files, especially once they need to be downloaded for my
specific serial number.
