Hi Folks,

Where I live, in a residencial area, I have no problem over the past twenty years in getting either the u.s. post man, fed X, or UPS to leave packages in my garage and they sign for them for me if I am not home, and if I am home they many times don't bother me in having me sign for the pacakges, but there are times when it is a different driver, I can easily sign their electronic pad. Just get to know your delivery person or call the delivery company, I have very good relations with all of them.

If I had to get packages delivered to my home, I would never use Fed Ex,

Fortunately for me, I can in fact get packages delivered at my place of
work.

I used to have a friendly UPS person who always did the deliveries to
our
house. He was great because he took personal interest in doing a good
job
of delivering things, like making sure not to leave stuff at the front
door
possibly in a puddle. :-) The new driver just dumps whatever wherever
without even trying to knock or ring the door bell. I sometimes find
things outside in strange places delivered who knows when.

My MPower arrived the Friday after Thanks Giving in a snow storm, and we

were not home. Fortunately it was in a huge plastic bag as well as all
the
box and phome packing material so it was just fine. It still freeks me
out
to have such expensive stuff just dumped, especially on a long weekend.
I
think all delivery companies are trying to save money by not asking for
signatures for almost anything. I actually would like to know, just for
my
curiocity, if Humanware shipped the MPower without requesting the type
of
delivery that would require a signature, or if the delivery person just
took the risk of leaving it.

Well UPS tried to deliver my transplanted 18-cell BN today,. I shipped
it
Fed-Ex because the Fed-Ex office is about half a mile from my house or
less
and because it is on my way home. Normally when I have packages from
them
and am not home (I work ten-hour days) I can call them and have them
hold
the package and pick it up the next evening.

We had to go into tracking and ask that the package be delivered on
Friday,
January 13, which is the first time we will be home during the work
week,
but that is not always the case, sometimes we actually do work 50 hours
a
week.

So, I have to wait and wait! Sure wish they shipped the same way they
received, they have my card number so it should not have been a problem.
I
dislike UPS, they have no regard for schedules, are not easy to get to,
and
this means that more than likely I will spend all day Friday waiting
and
they will deliver at five in the evening even if they tried to deliver
at
9:30 this morning. .

In 2003 UPS left my new BN 32 cell on the porch all day, then three
weeks
later wanted a signature for the upgraded 18-cell, said they would be
back
on Friday but came on Thursday and left a note that they would ship it
back,
now talk about a hassle to get that resolved! I really have little that
I
can say is good about UPS.

So, maybe Friday I will be half-way empowered, and next week will have
to
see about shipping the 32 cell for its empowerment, provided the 18-cell
works when it gets home!
