I would to because most of the time it runs out when I am nowhere near a
charging point. So what would be needed would be a detachable pack like
in laptops. I actually like the detachable idea better than a battery
case where you just put in the replacement cells. I suspect they don't
have that because they don't want people putting in the wrong type for
example none rechargeable in a recharging system.

And I thought I was a cynic. I suspect though that there is another
reason why they are not removable. I don't think they are making any
money doing it in fact I bet it is a pain. 95 per hour to have someone
sit there and pull the units apart isn't cost effective at all. Since I
have never opened the unit and looked inside I don't know however
suspect that the redesign would cost more money course then we could all
complain about that cost. I have had my units both of them for over
three years and never replaced the batteries.
