This is Joseph. If you are using SuperDisk Drive, it won't work since
Windows XP does not support it. A good solution is to purchase a USB floppy
disk drive. This drive connects to the computer and it shows itself as Drive
A:. I'm sure it can also work with mPower (if you have BrailleNote mPower).

Subject: [Braillenote] disc drive question

Hi all,

I tried sending this yesterday but never saw it come through the list.
Seems that when I initiate a message, instead of doing a reply and changing
the subject line, my messages don't make it to the list. anyway, I have a
question about the disc drive. I hope that's an ok topic here, even though
it involves the drive with my PC.

my new computer doesn't have a floppy disc drive. I tried to install my
copy of duxbury yesterday and realized it uses the old floppy authorization
system. My computer has a built in card reader. Do you think I can plug
the disc drive into my PC in one of the card slots, and use it that way to
license duxbury? I am lost without my braille translation program. and
yes, though I transfer most of my web braille or bookshare books to my
mPower, I do occasionally open the books and translate them into text to
have jaws read to me from the PC while I'm doing other things at home.

Sherry
