Bob and list: Inferior and superior are not the issues here. Understand, that from my point of view, it is simply a matter of what a device can and cannot do effectively. If I had to move a 60 foot trailer, I wouldn't try to do it with a Honda Accord. It is not that the mPower isn't a wonderful device, but no matter how you look at it, it simply cannot perform some tasks as well as a PC. If someone ever lead you to believe that it could, that individual was either misinformed, or they deliberately misled you. I think that the mPower performs many tasks admirably. But it simply does not have the power, speed, and flexibility that one can find in a PC. This does not mean that the Braillenote family of products are inferior, it simply means that they are designed to function in specific ways, and according to their specifications. A personal computer uses a processor that is many times faster than a Braillenote. A personal computer has the ability to run numerous programs that would not be appropriate for a Braillenote. If someone states, therefore, that certain tasks would be easier to do on a personal computer, they are not incorrect. I do not believe that someone who doesn't have a personal computer is inferior to me, I don't have a BMW, and I don't think that those who do are superior to me; they just have more money and better vision (we hope) The Braillenote is an excellent product, its interface is consistent, it's functionality is quite good, and it does what it does quite well. To say that a Braillenote can not do something as well as a PC is not a criticism of the device; rather, it is simply stating the truth. Having said that, I don't think that Braillenote users are second class citizens, I think that they simply need to recognize that there are limits, and that those limits will sometimes make some tasks a bit harder to accomplish.

Well, I don't mean to be rude, but I think those comments are insensitive and elitist. I'm sorry, but not everyone, for various reasons, has a lot of adaptive equipment. We usually get one or two shots at the brass ring in a lifetime. Many of us have chosen the BN, because of its portability, and because of its functionality. To us, it's more than just aa neat little tool; it's everything. People who seem to say that we're wrong to expect a lot out of it are wrong and mis-informed. The fact is, we know exactly what to expect, and Humanware agrees with our high expectations. That's why they came out with the M-power. Those of you who have a number of pieces of equipment should thank God you have them, and not look down your noses at those of us who don't. By the way, this absolutely does not apply to most on this list; just a couple. Comments like the ones I read earlier make me want to unsubscribe. But, I won't. We're all in the same boat on this list, and we shouldn't even imply that folks who don't have as much equipment are somehow inferior. If I'm over-reacting, I'm sorry. God bless.
