I don't know that the SD cards really have advantages, but I would dare say the compact flash card will have a short life. As we have seen the floppy disk disappearing, I believe that will happen with the compact flash card as well. My two cents for the day, <LOL>.

special advantage to switching to SD cards?

I've been using CF cards,  and even have a  5GB Kingston drive.
The CF cards are small; and, the SD cards are smaller!  My main
concern with the latter, is how easy they can disappear! (smile)
