Hi Joseph,

I have to respectfully disagree!I've had my old BN for going on six years now, and have had not a moment's trouble with it. At least not the Braille display. I've gotten so dependant on my MPower that I sometimes think about sending the old one in and getting a transplant!

Kevin and others,
This is Jospeh. It is recommended that you send your unit at
least once a
year to perform maintenance on it, such as replacing the battery,
software
upgrades, cleaning the display, and so on. The braille display
will lost
about 2 or 3 years.

Subject: [Braillenote] Life of the Display

Dear List,
I was wondering what is the life of the Braille Display, or has
anyone had
to send it in to get it fixed or replaced even. I was just
wondering since
I have heard stories about people needing to send their units in
to get
their batteries changed any other issues primarily software
issues, but
nothing about the display.
Thanks for the information you are able to provide.
Kevin
