Dear list members,
I do not know whl wrote this resolution, but it is quite hard to say my
opinions about this. HumanWare, Freedom Scientific, and ANY technology
companies has very good quality technical support personel.
The resolution points out that the companies who produces assistive
technology should correct their policies on technical support to meet
consumer needs. While this seems persuasive, it doesn't make sense. First of
all, many companies have tech support who has been praised by consumers to
be "god quality." Second, in terms of HumanWare, one of the design goal of
BN family of products was consumer input through tech support. In some
cases, issues that has been brought up on the tech support calles and emails
turned out to be correct - the issue of BookShare books not unpacking, for
example. I know that Jonathan Mosen might say something about this
resolution, so I'll end my opinion here. And, please, let us keep the list
posts on topic.
