Hi Mary:
I can't remember if you are using a BT or a QT. Depending on
how much information you need to put in for a bank record, I used
the "receit book". I changed a field name, to make it fit my
category. I kept the date as it was, I kept the "to" field, but
changed the "from" field, because it's always from me. I changed
that to an "amount" field, and changed "amount" to "balance".
Then, when you put things in the memory of the calculator, and
want to add the "balance", you can just press I with Enter, and
then, the letter C. This is if you are using a BT. I know you
said you wanted "easy", (grin), so if I messed up that plan, I
apologize. Let me know if I can help.
If you don't feel like creating a database, you could just make
a bank record on your card, but still do the calculating
function. If you want, I will send you a copy of my receit book
to show you what I mean.

Subject: [Braillenote] Suggestions needed
Hello list.
I know I could figure this out on my own, but I'm looking for
strategies to help me make the transition from my old Braille
Lite to the BN.
I used to use my BLT to keep up with my banking. I didn't do
anything all that fancy. I just kept a special file called Bank
where I wrote the amounts I paid out or depositedand then I added
or subtracted from a memory, usually A. If I thought that maybe
I had a mistake, I would use another memory to try and find the
mistake. This fairly low-tech method worked pretty well for me
except when I had a severe crash or cold boot, or when I just
forgot to enter something.
Does anybody have a nice, fairly easy strategy for banking that
doesn't take a degree in computer science? Not sure which
feature to use, Keyword, the database, or what. I probably need
to keep it fairly simple or I'll just quit doing it.
Thanks in advance.
Unapologetically lazy.
