I would say someone at Humanware will have the last word on this
problem. Some of this has to do with the Keysoft System being a "closed"
system which doesn't recognize all drivers or software which works with
Windows XP, and more open source pocket windows systems. Some of these
systems for sighted people are specialized systems at times. The people at
Humanware need to find a card which is dependable with Windows 4.2 and their
operating system since it is specialized. That's the best I can do on my
end.

Perhaps, someone out here can help me understand something about the
network card problem. With there being so many options out there as far
as network cards go, what would Humanware have to do in order to insure
that the m power units would be more compatible with most of what is out
there? Would it simply just require some changes within the software or
something? Please, someone clarify this for me. Isaih

Subject: [Braillenote] network cards
Hello again
The Braillenote won't be the only product affected if network
cards as Ambicom and SanDisk are no longer available. The Packmate and
Braille Sense will be facing the same difficulty.
I had an Ambicom card stop working for me. It will work in the
side slot but it may become intermittent. I'm very pleased with the
Sandisk card I received. The Ambicom card my wife has works well in her
unit and my new Sandisk card has been flawless.
A friend of mine hasn't been as fortunate. His ambicom card
became intermintent and the Sandisk card he ordered hasn't worked either.
He sent in his unit to the tune of $150 and it still isn't fixed. I told
him to call and demand a new unit since he spent his own money and
couldn't get the M-power fixed for going on line wirelessly. I hope he
will eventually resolve this difficulty! It is easy to recommend one card
over another but when they both don't work, this is truly unfortunate! !
