Ottawa Canada Dear Richard:
Regarding the quality of their products, what specific problems do you think need addressing? Humanware has addressed the battery performance issue. They had been buying batteries whose manufacturer's specifications met their needs, but as it turned out, did not always live up to the manufacturer's specifications. As far as repairs go, certainly they did or do have a backlog of units sent in for repairs, but the firm is addressing this in Concord, California. I'm not sure what the situation with repairs is in other Humanware repair depots. If you state your specific concerns, they can be made known to senior Humanware management who can look into remedying them. Unfortunately remedies take a while to take effect as in medicine. You just don't hire say ten more tech support people overnight and turn them loose upon end users. They require training on the products and may or may not require training on other aspects of computers and access technology generally. For example, most people let their software configure their modem and if it doesn't work right, call the equipment's Tech Support number. I've been around modems and data communications equipment since the days of the model 33 Teletype machine which talked at a whopping 110 BPS! So I know a good many of the Hayes modem commands and know where to find info on the ones I don't know. Take care. Brian -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
