Yes, you should be ware of whom you trust. But, I think it depends on which
"others" you trust. Jonathan has never lead us to believe that Humanware
wasn't paying him for what he said. The thing is that Jonathan is good at
what he does.

Trust is a great way to sell things. It's called ethos in the language of
argumentation. Mix a bit of truth with a healthy dose of trust and you've
got a winning argument.

I'm not saying that Jonathan didn't tell the truth. I'm just saying that
Jonathan is paid by whomever because he is great at highlighting the
advantageous portions of the truth, and great at minimizing those things
which will not advance his purpose.

Jonathan will have a very fine line to walk now. I don't know if any one so
much in the "public eye" in the field of accessable technology has ever
changed camps so conspicuously. He can't speak too highly of FS without
defaming HW, and he can't defame HW without making himself look like he was
lying for the past few years, and thereby making people wonder if he's
telling the truth now. Of course those who are buying for the first time may
not know the story, but any one in the field will now listen to Jonathan's
claims with a healthy bit of reserve, and I hope that all of us will, from
now on, ask ourselves, "whose paying him to say that?" We should ask this
question of any one speaking of a particular product.

Trust but verify. Always make sure you have researched well. That way the
only person you have to blame is yourself and you can justify your
decisions.

You know, What's really sad is that you have to truly question just how
much confidence you are willing to put in the statements and opinions of
others when it comes to looking at accesibility products.

This one really shakes it to the core.

I bet you're right, Richard. It's just so shocking. Jonathan used every

do I know, right?
