Hi, Paul,
The filure to climb down where their users are is characteristic of
FS, who think that organization of the blind conventions are trade
shows. Don't get me started on that one--not on this list anyway.

Hi, everyone. I specifically remember Jonathan talking when 6.0 was coming
out and Visuaide just merged with humanware. He stated that their
development team had been tripled. Thinking back on that day, I wondered as
upgrades still only came out once a year and I remember him saying that the
development team had 50 people on it. I realize that those 50 people work on
a number of products, but people get shifted to whatever the current product
is at the time.
Of course, in that same meeting, we were told we would get streaming audio
with 6.0 and that didn't happen.
I also remember last March at CSUN how he had a key chat item in his menu.
Evidently, that didn't make it into 7.2, but it was in his menu in March.
I also remember him telling us the summer before that the classic would be
supported for the foreseeable future.
I received a message today from the HP president stating how they were
working hard to have better customer service, technical support and a better
product. However, I am constantly puzzled when we talk on the list about
wanting a charger for car or air travel, battery concerns and many other of
what I would consider major topics and other than occasional messages from
Andrew Riden, we hear nothing on this list from anyone at humanware
addressing our concerns.
I remember seeing 13 messages the other day concerning battery issues that
some were having. Although we all tried to help one another, I don't recall
seeing anything from HW staff.
It seems to me that it really doesn't do much good to sponsor a list if you
aren't willing to participate with its users.
Don't get me wrong. I still love my Mpower and for the foreseeable future
don't think I will be switching to anything else.
I just spent almost 2000 dollars on the Sendero GPS program and it's
probably one of the neatest things I have ever seen for the braille note.
But HW needs to consider climbing down into the trenches with their users
and addressing their concerns.

All,
I am stunned and saddened . . . betrayed too - but life goes on!

Now, did you read Jonathan's blog? That's what really got me . . ..
Read the entry for 1st September and you'll see what I mean.
He's suggesting there that HW don't have the manpower to make it so we won't
get what we want . . .. If that's the case, we've all been "sold down the
river" - again! Just as in the DOS days!
Any comments HW?
I really thought things were going well with the release of 7.0 but have
more recently changed my mind when considering 7.2 and what was on offer
Don't be surprised if some of you feel bereaved, just as when Dean was
taken. That's just how I feel.
Well, sad, sad day! I'll go on reading my posts and try not to respond to
every one, but that's about it from me!
