Ottawa Canada Hello Paul:
Well I guess Humanware management decided that the classic models just cannot do the sorts of things they want to include in KeySoft, so have decided that KS 8.0 will be the end of the line for the Classic. They perhaps hadn't decided upon the features they want to pursue that aren't compatible with the Classic last summer. A Development Team of fifty people is a heck of a big development department. I'd expect that group has people dedicated to CCTV, Victor Reader, BrailleNote/VoiceNote, Brailliant etc. Or has some people specializing in hardware and others in software. Not sure if all development is done in Christchurch or not. Far as I know, VisuAide of Drummondville, PQ had its own development folks in Drummondville for the Victor Readers and Christchurch did the notetakers and Braille displays. I thought Concord, CA was a distribution/repair centre and also where the tech support folks for the notetakers and Braille displays are. Not sure if Concord does any R and D or not. Far as I know, the tech support people in Drummondville are a very small group, but I guess Victor Readers probably don't have anywhere near the tech support problems of Braille displays and notetakers. Far as who moderates the list, I guess it is up for grabs as Jonathan was the moderator after Dean passed away. Brian -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
