Dear Jolleen, If you had gotten the NIV Bible from me, you would have received 66 files each book in its own file, each verse in its own paragraph.
The only thing I haven't done yet is to link the verses with the chapter number. This is because in literary U.S. braille Biblical references are supposed to contain number signs, not colons. I also have the KJV with verses and chapters linked as you mentioned. I bought it along with a collection of books from a man--can't remember his name off hand. He has lots of books in .txt format older books in the public domain so anyone can get them. You tell him what books you want, send him a CompactFlash or SD card, pay him $29.95. He'll fill up the whole disk for you for that price, so you don't have to select only one collection. If you have a big enough card, you could buy a lot of books for that amount. As for mp3 files, I haven't looked into that because I only have a dialup connection and it would take me forever to download them. I know that some versions on the Bible Gateway aren't available as audio files. Terri, Amateur Radio call sign KF6CA. It was the King James version. With a series of : cut and paste commands, I now have it formatted so that each verse is a : paragraph and the chapter and verse are written 1:1, for example. The book : name is at the top of each file. This is my favorite format and I used it : first on a competitor note taker when the BN was only a dream at best. : : I also have the NIV and I don't remember where I got it, possibly : Bookshare. It seems that I had to divide it book by book. Now with these : two on compactflash, I am hoping to get a compactflash or SD card big : enough to hold a third version that is mp3 format. : : There is an excellent bible reference on line. I use it frequently on my : computer, but have visited it only once in the 2 times I have been on line : with my new mPower. The URL is : http://www.biblegateway.com : It claims to have 50 versions and in 35 languages. There are commentaries : and such. There are options to listen to an audio version of some : translations. : : A disapointment for me was that I could not access the link "Listen to the : Chapter" on my BN. It gave me the choice of downloading the file. I did : that and the media player did not seem to recognize it or play it. I would : be most appreciative if someone could find the answer to that problem for me. : : Joleen : : At 06:47 PM 10/3/2006, you wrote: : >Jolena, : >Did you format the bible in your Braille Note so it's easier to read.
