Hi, and welcome to the list,

I have wanted an SDK for years. I want to go to college for programming or computer science and work for HumanWare; I have had a BN since 2002, and would be able to tell HW (from a student's viewpoint) what apps would be good. Short of that, I would love to write apps for KS, such as a metric converter or true multi-tasking. (The metric converter works quite nicely as a JavaScript page I wrote, if you want a copy, but it is nothing like KeySoft.)

Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] Real interest in SDK here

Hi,

I'm a new BrailleNote owner (about a month) and am, truly,
interested
in writing software for it. I'm an experienced programmer with
experience in VB, C#, PHP, and a dash of skill in many other
languages. I've written some accessible applications for blind
people
and am constantly thinking of ways to enhance access to blind
people.

Is HW/Pulse accepting some sort of notification of interest in
such an
SDK? I know it's been a long standing topic among the listers
(been
reading the archives) and I also see that in general people want
an
SDK so that others can code... I have many ideas for apps to
write for
the BN and would love to be able to do so.

I've heard some discussion of the API - I'm guessing this means
exporting KeySoft's features to external applications. Ideally,
I'd
like to make my applications follow KeySoft's menu system as
closely
as possible. I want the apps to be immediately understandable to
anyone who's familiar with KeySoft's menus; meaning, the app
launches
and you're placed in a menu of options, and even configuration of
the
program would be done via a menu.

Just thought I'd express the interest,

Thanks.
Flint
