Well, now that you mention it, my CF card slot hasn't ever been quite right.
For, when I first got my mPower about a year ago, I noticed the CF card
would be just a bit scratched from going in and out of the mPower, but I
figured maybe with the unit new and all, things would loosen up. But, now
that I've gotten my unit back after the battery hardware modification,
although my CF card doesn't appear to be scratched or anything, it does seem
much harder to get in and out of the mPower. But, otherwise, things with
the mPower, including the battery, are working great.

As for your tech support questions, well, you'll likely get various
answers/opinions, and I'll weigh in on the first two.

First, when I sent in my unit for the battery modification, I put the BN in
its case and original box, and then put the RMA number and brief explanation
as to why I was sending the unit back on a slip of paper taped to the box.

Second, me, seeing as I, too, tend to always keep my flash disk backed up, I
just deleted all the data off my BN before sending it in--deleted all the
planner files, my personal files and the COB files dealing with my address
list and connection configurations.

Subject: [Braillenote] Hardware ProblemCF Slot

Hi All,

I received my mPower transplant just over a month ago. Every
since I have had it, it has been difficult to put the CF card
into the slot. In fact, the right side of the wireless card is
scratched from the many in and out repetitions. Recently, my
finger tips noticed something loose just inside the slot,
palpable when running my fingers across the slot. There is a
piece on the serial port side that slides toward the middle of
the slot and a piece from the top that hangs down slightly. If I
move these pieces out of the way (right and up) the card slips
right in. Everything works on my unit The CF card works, the
wireless card works.

I just called tech support today for an RMA number as I feel
there is nothing that this list can do for this problem except to
let me know if any of you have heard of such a thing before. I
am planning to wait a week before sending it in as our state
convention is this coming weekend and I really would be lost
without it. However, if someone tells me that I am taking a big
chance by waiting a day, I may reconsider. I have every reason
to believe that this will be covered under warranty.

Now for the questions:
1. What is the best way to prepare the BN to be sent in? for
this problem, would it be best to send it with a CF card inserted
to keep everything from jiggling around during transport? The
tech support person on the phone had never heard of this problem
before.

2. I have always had concerns about sending in my unit with all
my personal data. I always back up the flash drive, but there
still sits my data and my calendar.
3. I wish there was a way to copy my calendar to a file so that
I have easy access to it while the unit is away. Last time, I
printed the calendar, scanned it, and then had access to it.
That seems a little fussy. if only there could be a copy to
file command in the Planner Options menu for such instances.
