OK so the problem is the techs at your school are mainly Macintosh gurus. What model HP printer are you trying to print on and who configured the printer for you? And with the Juliet embosser, you basically need the Juliet manual as I believe you have to tell it to receive data on the serial port and if it hasn't been told, it is probably listening on its parallel port for data that never comes.
