you are wrong about road runner. I can't send outside my house and yes my smtp details are correct. They admitted it was a security thing of there's...
If you go to a hotel, you can pay to use the wifi or sometimes it is free, but you have to find the geek to give you the details to create an account. Just scanning for an account, doesn't mean it will work. If it works, my isp will give me a relay denied message when I try to send. Again, the pop works because I can bring down my mail. My email provider will not let me send email outside of my home because of security. It has to do with the fact that they cannot control the smtp server of every place that I visit. I can download email but not send. Just because you have a wireless card, does not mean you have access. There are many other factors. Cindy PS Please do not speak for every ISP if you do not have knowledge of every ISP. Two of us have already proven you wrong in this matter. You are more than welcome to call my ISP and tell them they are wrong. It is Insight cable. My other ISP did not allow wireless sending either. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Joseph Lee Sent: Friday, January 19, 2007 6:22 PM To: Braillenote List Subject: re: [Braillenote] gmail Kathleen, Cindy and list, I have used my unit with an Ambicom WiFi card on a number of occasions. I have used it in places such as Starbucks, hotels, and airports and I can confirm Kathleen's words that it is in fact ISP-INDEPENDENT. In one occasion, I was able to send and receive email through a hotel's WiFi connection.
