The string that I use with my Nokia 6682 connecting through bluetooth is:
*99***1#

I just switch the keyboard entry to computer braille to make entry easier
with all of the computer symbols that are required.

Well, I'm using AT&T/Cingular with my cell phone and PK. And, although I
don't now need to use a modem string with my Windows Mobile phone devices
and my PK, when I used my Nokia 6620, a string was indeed required.

Now, to answer your question, at least in my case, no, I never could get a
modem initialization string to work on my PK, nor could I get it to work on
my mPower for that matter. But, this very same string, it worked just fine
on my PAC Mate when I was using my phone as a modem for that device.

So, in the end, to get my Nokia 6620 to work as a modem for my PK, I had to
do the following every time after turning the phone back on again: go to
settings, connections, GPRS, and access points, and set ISP.CINGULAR as my
access point. And, since I hadn't used the 6620 in quite sometime, I went
to the list archives for this message to help refresh my memory:

Finally, as to your cannot find the port issue, I still get that once in
awhile, and mostly when I've tried one or two connections too many before
resetting my PK and restarting my phone.

Thanks Christopher, but it is not that simple. As I said, I can get
a good internet connection from a laptop, so the data plan is OK, as
are phone modem and network. As I still haven't resolved this, may
I ask another question to everyone. Have you successfully made an
internet connection via Bluetooth using an additional modem string?

As I've also said, it seems to be the additional string, which the
network requires, which is not being accepted by the PK.

Best,

Peter
