If it is the exiting out of the email message with the PK that you're talking about, I usually don't have to do a reset to get my PK going again. I just kind of move the advance and back keys a bit, and then my PK starts acting right again.

Oh, as for sending back the PK, one might get it back in a couple of weeks, but then it could take two or three months. For, I've known at least a couple of people who had theirs gone for that long, although there were other issues involved that required parts to be replaced in their cases.

Hi, I have noticed this too. It appears to happen when I'm
brailling at
speed which makes it even more inconvenient, but the whole unit
seems to
freeze and I have to reset it to get it working again. I'm not
sure
what the cause of it is, but I can't really send it back as I use
it on
such a regular basis. It's a shame because otherwise it's such a
good
unit.

Yes, I've had the same loss of speech with my PK, practically
ever since I've had the unit. And, as with others, I do just
live with it, and then do the c 3 and c 4 reset
to get the PK talking once again.

I find a bit more annoying, though, to be typing an email and
then be popped out of it and back in the list of emails. But, it
does appear that HW has at least made this issue a bit easier for
us. For, a couple KS versions ago when I was knocked out of the
email message I was composing, I would lose that entire message,
no matter how long or short its content. Now, though, when I'm
dropped out of composing a message, that message which I was
typing then shows up in the drafts email folder. And, I only
lose, at most, maybe a word or two or three of what I was trying
to write.

First, I added the "PK" to the subject line as I'm only aware of
this on PK
units.
I have a co-worker who is also seeing this and getting quite
frustrated.
She was a life-long Braille-N-Speak user until this last year.
She too is learning to live with it. However, this is not
acceptable. I
also have a PK and see it happening often, but not as often as
she is.
When anyone, government or private citizen, spends $5,000 for a
device they
are going to depend on, it shouldn't be this unstable.
She is a faster braillist than I am, which I suspect is why she
experiences
it so much more.

But, Humanware seems les than interested in doing anything about
it other
than telling people to slow down their keystrokes.

Sad, as when other devices become similarly portable; Humanware
is going to
see a mass exodus.
