hi shaz
i hope your new pk is ok.
i also have an m-power, but the braille display has gone on it for over 2 years now, and that's the main reason why i got the pk, because of the braille factor. i must admit, though, i love the size, and once i get used to it, it will go with me everywhere.
good luck, and all the best, richard.

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Lost manual on pk.

Hi, I have been having serious problems with my PK and Humanware
Australia have told me that there was a bad batch of PK's. I was
sent it back two weeks ago and had it working for an hour before
the same problem happened again. They told me that as long as
the
battery didn't get below one percent then everything should be
fine but when it happened this time it was above eighty percent
so that shot that theory to pieces. It first started having
problems just before the one year point so they have now tried
everything to fix it so they have agreed to give me a replacement
at no cost.

So the new PK should be in the country by about March 17 by my
calculations. I can't wait until the new unit is in my hands
because this time has been the longest ever without it and I
really miss it. I sent it back in early November to be fixed the
last time.

One thing I can say for the humanware staff is they have tried
allot of things to fix this including sending it to NZ for
repairs and so far all it has costed me is the postage to get it
to the Humanware office in Sydney.

I will be so glad when I get the call saying that my new machine
is on it's way because I carry my machine almost everywhere I go
but the MPower is rather heavy for doing this and my back is
starting to complain it will be happy to have the light PK back
again.

Well I think I have gone on enough,
From Shaz.

Hi, one reason your manual may have disappeared is if you have
quite allot of things on your flash drive. This could be
documents, emails or memos. Sometimes you can record memos
without knowing it so check the my memos folder to see if you
have any memos in ther that shouldn't be there. It is advised
with the PK not to save to much to the flash drive because it is
only small and you can loose your manual if it is too full. So
this is something you can look into.

Sorry I can't help with the joystick question but my PK is with
humanware still so I can't look it up for you.

hi
i've tried all the resets, and the manual does not come back, it
is not on the system disk.
if i try and access the user guide from the options menu, i keep
getting a repeated message saying cannot find the table of
contents file, and have to do a reset.
for the time being, how can i change what the joystick does?
thanks, richard.

i would prefer it

Have you tried deleting the manual folder on the KeySoft system
disk, and
then doing a regular c3 and c4 reset?

hello,
i tried to look up something on the manual on my pk, and
discovered that
the manual is missing.
I have tried all the resets with no success.
when i try the hard reset holding dots 4-5-6 with c 3 and 4, it
doesn't
seem to work.
when it reboots, i am not asked to set the date and time etc,
and the
voice is still the same as before resetting it.
any ideas?
i'm off to a gig now to blow my sax, but i'll be thinking of the
problem
instead of concentrating on playing.
thanks, richard.
