Hi, Joseph and all,
I sent this message a few days ago and got no response, so I'm going to send it again. But before I do, I have an additional question. Humanware tech support said something about the bootloader when they were trying to help me get the PK up and running again. Can I updeate the bootloader or reload or reinstall it or whatever to see if this fixes my problem? My PK is still plugged into the charger...I'm afraid to remove it! BTW, I never did upgrade to 7.5 from 7.2, although I think I have an upgrade or two left. I'm terrified of something going wrong when I try it...should I overcome my cowardice and take the plunge and try it?
Anyhow, here's the message from a few days ago.
   Thanks, all!
You all may recall that I wrote last week about my PK only switching
between "off" and "brlnote PK" messages on the Braille display. I tried all
the tricks the Humanware tech support suggested, nothing. Then, I left the
PK off the charger until the "off" message disappeared. I then did a c1 c4
reset, and it is up and running again. I haven't taken it off the charger
yet, though: I am using it plugged in.
Does anyone have any explanation for this?

Alice

Hi there,
If you are using a QT keyboard, you need to press the number 2 key. Or, at
the update menu, press SPaCE to move to "update bootloader" item, then press
ENTER to update the bootloader. Try it and see what happens.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi, I've got my unit working again but am having trouble installing the boot

loader. After I hit reset with dots 4-6, I typed the letter b after I hear
the tones. But nothing happens and the message "update menu 2.6" remains on
the Braille Display. Brett Wilhelm [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi ther,
Can you tell us what is displayed on the braille display? That would help

us
immensely. Alternatively, try Service Reset (Reset with Record button) to
see what happens.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi, I was upgrading my BrailleNote Mpower bt to Keysoft 7.5. I was
installing the boot loader, and I hit reset with dots 4 and 5 instead of
4
and 6. My unit has stopped working. I need this unit for tomorrow, so any
help is appreciated. Brett Wilhelm [EMAIL PROTECTED]
