I wouldn't be seen dead using KeyMail as my primary email client, but if it's just temporary, why don't you send only using KeyMail so that you can attach files and use Gmail's mobile interface to read? One thing that isn't clear is why Gmail uses two separate vanilla interfaces, one mobile and one "Basic". As I understand it, their "Basic" interface will do attachments, but try as I might I can't reach it from my BN because their system redirects mobile User Agents always to their mobile interface. Even when you use nocheckbrowser. Helpful! I do think that when you're mobile your best option is a real email client, since only then do you get real flexibility on the move. In your case that means handling attachments. IMAP, if supported, would be ideal here since you can fetch message text independent of other message parts (attachments). Most cell phones do this now.
