Hello there,
That's very strange; the page loads flawlessly for me, and always
has. What kind of BrailleNote do you have, an mPower or a
classic? And with what version of KeySoft?
Try this link instead; it's the "secure" version of the Basic
HTML view:
https://gmail.google.com/gmail/h/
Good luck,
Grant

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] To all using Gmail on the BrailleNote
Hi Grant,
Thanks for the link. I did however notice some flaws in the way
the
BrailleNote handled it though. When I clicked on the link, I got
the
message: "Google could not reformat this link for your phone.
Click
here to go to the link directly.". So I clicked "here", as
indicated,
and it opened the site no problem. But here's where the flaws
come in.
First of all, when I tried to open another site from the Gmail
Basic
HTML link, my whole unit crashed each time, and the only way to
fix it
is to reboot, which is unnecessary. I don't understand why it
would be
crashing the unit in the first place. Also, it won't let me open
it
directly from my favourites nor as a default homepage. I
therefore
have to go back into your email with the link each time I want to
click on it. There are instances where I have to send out
attachments
right away (tests, exams etc), so again, I'm in desperate need of
a
solution that won't cause me any time consuming technical bugs.
Again
guys, please pardon my pickiness, I do appreciate your help.
It's just
that this whole GMail situation is getting really frustrating and
almost discouraging.
Thanks anyway guys for your help!
All the best,
Siena.

Hello,
Use this URL to access the Basic HTML version of Gmail from your
BrailleNote:
http://gmail.google.com/gmail/h/
The Basic HTML view is a stripped-down version of Gmail designed
for the desktop, to provide increased accessibility and
compatibility; the mobile view, however, is designed for the
small screen of a cell phone or PDA.

Hi Siena,
I wouldn't be seen dead using KeyMail as my primary email client,
but if
it's just temporary, why don't you send only using KeyMail so
that you can
attach files and use Gmail's mobile interface to read?
One thing that isn't clear is why Gmail uses two separate vanilla
interfaces, one mobile and one "Basic". As I understand it,
their "Basic"
interface will do attachments, but try as I might I can't reach
it from my
BN because their system redirects mobile User Agents always to
their
mobile interface. Even when you use nocheckbrowser. Helpful!
I do think that when you're mobile your best option is a real
email
client, since only then do you get real flexibility on the move.
In your
case that means handling attachments. IMAP, if supported, would
be ideal
here since you can fetch message text independent of other
message parts
(attachments). Most cell phones do this now.
Cheers,
Sabahattin
