Hi Susan-Marie,
Welcome to the list. I'm a college student myself with the mPower as well...
The best way to "transfer" the files would be to use Backup or Restore Files
option under Utilities Menu. Backup the folder(s) where you've stored your
personal information. Back it up to you flash card. After you've backed
things up, restore the files on your new mPower usinb Backup and Restore
Files again, this time, restore the files to the folder on your BrailleNote.
To clear your "old" BrailleNote, delete ALL folders on your Flash Disk. Go
to File Manager/Folder Mnager/Erase. At the drive prompt, select Flash Disk.
At the folder to delete prompt, press SPACE with T to switch to Directory
mode, then type dots 3-4 (slash on QT) then press ENTER. At the confirmation
message, press Y. If further messages about deleting folders are given,
press Y or A to dismiss these prompts.
This erases all folders on Flash Disk and resets BrailleNote to factory
defaults (by deleting a file called keysoft.ksd file under Dictionaries
folder). After the clearance in finished, press Reset. Then if it prompts
for things like operating language and other things, press ENTER.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] Clearing A BrailleNote MPower?

Good Day Everyone,
I know this is a stupid question, however, I'm hoping someone will have the
tolerance to help me. My name is Susan-Marie and I am a college student and
I've recently received a new MPower and need to return the old MPower to my
VR Counselor. The trouble is that I've had the old one for approximately 4
years and, of course, it contains a great deal of personal information.
Can anyone please tell me the best way to reset the BrailleNote to the
factory settings? Will it be necessary for me to delete each file
individually? I think the best way to save all of my personally added
information is to simply copy the entire contents of the old one to a
compact flash card. Is that correct? Thanks so much for any help.

Respectfully,
Susan-Marie
