To all of the people who can no longer use bookshare, I think you would be well within your rights to demand your money back, because bookshare did not warn you of the consequences of the change in their web site. Of course, Humanware could well issue a patch, but it seems they are going to be stubborn and insensitive to the needs of their customers and refuse to do so. And they call it "customer service." HA!

Hello Karyn and List:
I am one of those persons that doesn't
have a computer. I've got a feelings
that many people will be forced to do
that. But, that doesn't help a
deaf-blind person.
My feeling is this: Bookshare should
have let people know when they were
renewing membership that Bookshare would
be changing their format. If people
having Classics didn't know, and renewed
membership, nothing was ever said to
them. People didn't even have an option
to make a decision. We were told about
the site being exciting, but nothing
else. People have paid in their $50,
and can't use the site.
Leslie, I saw your question, but don't
know if you were refering to Bookshare
or not. It's $75 to join Bookshare for
the first time, then $50 after that.

Issue with Braille Notes

Ann and all,

One need also remember that not all BN
users have a PC to begin with. I
know one db user whose only access is
her BN. This means any classic user
who doesn't have a PC and/or thousands
of dollars is going to be shut out
of Bookshare access completely; and
that's not right.

I think that Ray wrote a good, strong
message on this one and I can tell you
that this has generated some discussion
on the AADB list.
