This message is especially for those of us who live in California. Our
sales tax is increasing from 8.75 per cent to 9.75 per cent beginning April
1. If you buy a BrailleNote before then, your sales tax will be $418.00 but
if you buy it after April 1, your sales tax will be $604.00.
That's true for any HumanWare product--add 9.75 per cent to its price and
figure out the difference. I think it's terrible we have to pay so much
tax! As an incentive for buying their products, I think HumanWare should
offer to pay the tax for anybody in California who doesn't receive
government help.
