Hi, humanware do not recommend that you have anyone else except
for humanware doing work on your machine. However some people
must have found someone who can do the work which they are
willing to take that risk. If your machine is still under
warrantee then you break it by getting someone else besides
humanware doing anything inside your machine. Also if they don't
know what they are doing with the braillenote then they may do
more damage to it and you will then have to pay Humanware more to
fix it.
So in conclusion you can get your local computer shop or whoever
to replace the battery but at your own risk and humanware won't
take any responsibility for anything that may go wrong.

If you can get your counselor to appropriate to you the funds to

it prepared, I would go that route. Can you tell us what is

on? There are a few things such as the battery pack,

pins, and ports that can be repaired at your local computer
store.
