Hi,
I have a better idea: there is a list called National Alliance of Blind
Students. There are quite a few Mac users over there, so I'll try and
forward Tim's query to that list and maybe one or two students can answer
him. BTW, the NABS is in ACB convention now, so I expect the earliest answer
to come out around next week.
I bet snow leopard supports Bluetooth Braille displays...
Cheers,
Joseph

I do not understand. VoiceOver is what displays the information on the
display, just like Jaws would show text on a display; the display is
not independent of the screen reader at all, so you need the reader (v
o in this case) to use the display. Besides, v o is very good, though
I have only semi-tested it on an iPad, not a full iMac with Snow
Leopard.

As to hooking things up, I think you just use usb or bluetooth. For
bluetooth, pair the bn with the mac, activate activeSync, and there
you go; start terminal and it should work. Of course, refer to the
manual of your iMac for the steps involved. Does Snow Leopard support
braille yet? I know iOS4 (for the iPod and iPhone) does, but I am not
sure if that support extends to the full macOSX10.6 yet. Something to
look into. Perhaps someone on the blindGeekZone list can provide
better instructions.
