Since the latch is built into the battery, like a laptop battery, you
could try getting another battery; this has never happened to me
(thankfully), and my battery sits flush in its compartment. When you
order the battery, tell them what is going on so it will be in your
file, that way, if the second battery also fails to seat properly,
they will know the situation and can take appropriate action. Still,
let's hope it is just the battery!
