I will let Joseph handle the differences between ce5 and ce6 since he
knows more about it than I do.
I cannot speak to hardware durability for either unit. However, again,
you are going to have tradeoffs no matter what. For example, the apex
has three usb ports, not counting the mini one, while the bsp has 1
(maybe 2) but includes a built-in lcd display for showing text to
sighted people. In both cases the battery can be replaced by the user,
though the apex battery might be cheaper. There is a pretty
significant difference in size, with the apex being the smaller of the
two by a good margin. Yes, see the wiki page for specifics.

As to the future, no one can say for sure, of course, especially as
Hims is now directly in charge of upgrades instead of dealing with GW
Micro. However, they used to be quite good at upgrading. That said,
they seem to have slowed down in the last couple years, but everything
is still free. That is a big change from Humanware's policy of
charging $200 per upgrade (unless you get an sma, which effectively
cuts the price in half).
I think that's everything. Definitely join the hims list, and take a
look at the wiki page for a comparison.
