I inserted the qwerty command Joseph forgot.
Terri
Hi,
A shorter way that emulates File Explorer (on a PDA) is via BACKSPACE with
P (forgot the QT version, sorry). QT is read with control with p. To
select all files, from the file list, press SPACE to select the first
item, then press ENTER with DOTS 2-3-5-6 (CTRL with READ with F).
Terri's explanation is correct. There are several levels of file system
protection. The first one is the file itself - which is the one the
originator had in mind. The second level is a folder or a group of them -
by protecting it from accidental access (quite a sophisticated mechanism,
but it is possible to do it). The third level is the partition of a
storage system - a storage device divided into parts - so that different
rules can be applied to each part. For instance, a user would divide hard
disks to partitions, each used to install different operating system. The
final protection level is the hardware itself.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] protecting text
Here's the explanation. If you open a file using KeyWord, you can add a
"temporary" protection when you press read with x (space with x?), the
"review on" command. When you exit the file, the temporary protection is
removed. Because of that slight modification to the file, you will be
asked
if you want to save it.
When you open a file using the bookreader, a temporary protection is
already
there. If you accidentally modify the text, you will be asked, "Save as a
KeyWord file?" If you press y, the file will be saved. If you happen to
press read with x (space with x?), the bookreader will remove the
temporary
protection on the file.
So, if you _really want to permanently protect your books or files, go to
the file manager. Press the space bar until you get to "File protection."
Press enter. Select the drive and folder where the file is located. If
you
want to protect multiple files in the same folder, such as the 66 books in
the Bible, press control with x (enter with x?) until you get to "all
files"
then type * at the "filename" prompt. Keysoft will prompt, "66 files were
selected. Confirm each file?" Press y for yes or n for no. At the
prompt
"protect or unprotect" type p to protect or u to unprotect them. Now,
your
files have a permanent protection on them. If you open them using either
the word processor or the bookreader, you can read them and you won't be
able to accidentally change them.
Note: When you open the files with the word processor, you will be in
"review mode". You can still turn off review mode, but if you try to
modify
the file, you will get the "file is protected" message.
If you open the file with the bookreader, you will permanently be in
review
mode.
If you have any questions, let me know.
