Hi again. I finally got it to work but then the document came up in what I can only perceive to be grade 2 German Braille. It was full of abbreviations I have never seen before, although I recognized many of the contractions, including those not normally featured in grade 1,5. I don't understand what is going on. Even when I tried reading it as a text document with grade 2 (US computer) Braille, some of it was incomprehensible, and I have studied German at university level and know at least some of the contractions for grade 1,5 German Braille. If there is anyone on this list who knows the German Braille code really well, could they please contact me? I really need some help trying to decipher it.

Cheers!

Michele

I have also had problems with this, switching between French, Spanish and
German braille is an exorcise in futility.

Subject: [Braillenote] Problem With Translating German Manual into German
Braille

Hi listers. I have a document which is the manual of a musical software program written in German. I just tried translating it into grade 1,5 German Braille on my APEX. However, although I tried several times, it always came out with an English Grade 2 code at the beginning, followed by grade 2 English Braille. I checked the Braille options and it said that the language had definitely been set to German. In the utilities menu, the working language was English, but when I changed this as well, the translation still came out in grade 2 English Braille. I'd be happy to send an attachment to anyone willing or able to assist me with this problem.

Thanks.

Michele
