If you use grade 1, it should work. Uncontracted braille, or grade 1, is the correct way for translating foreign languages into braille. We don't use 1,5 here in the U.S.

Subject: [Braillenote] Problem With Translating German Manual into GermanBraille

Hi listers. I have a document which is the manual of a musical software program written in German. I just tried translating it into grade 1,5 German Braille on my APEX. However, although I tried several times, it always came out with an English Grade 2 code at the beginning, followed by grade 2 English Braille. I checked the Braille options and it said that the language had definitely been set to German. In the utilities menu, the working language was English, but when I changed this as well, the translation still came out in grade 2 English Braille. I'd be happy to send an attachment to anyone willing or able to assist me with this problem.

Thanks.

Michele
