Hi,
Grant's instructions are correct also: you can in fact initiate pairing from Apex's end also, provided that after pairing, you go to VoiceOver/Braille and connect to the Apex.
Cheers,
Joseph

Sylvia, if your BrailleNote and iPhone tell you that the pairing was successful, then you should be all done. Simply enter terminal mode from the main menu and press B for bluetooth. Then on your iPhone, go
to settings, general, accessibility, VoiceOver, and then choose
Braille. You should see your Apex in the list of Braille devices; double-tapping it should establish the connection. In future you won't have to pop into this settings page; instead, when the iPhone wakes
up, provided bluetooth is on on both devices and your Apex is in
terminal mode, the Braille display should be auto-detected. If it is
not, simply locking then unlocking the iPhone should solve the
problem.

You can initiate the pairing from either device, despite what the
instructions tell you to do. They are only trying to simplify things
for you. If the pairing is done you do not need to do it again.

Hello List,
Has anyone had any success in pairing up the apex with the Iphone? I have tried numerous times to do this and apex will tell me that it's paired, but it really isn't. It's not displaying what's on the Iphone screen. Can anyone please walk me through step by step to try to find out what I'm not doing right? I'm thinking it's partly something to do with a certain authentification code. In the manual it says that you don't necessarily need to have this code to pair the two. Does anyone know what that code should be for either the apex or the Iphone? ARe they different? Any
feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks.
