Hi Everyone,

I have a QT32 and I tested it. To just turn on Braille it is the left shift key. As Joseph indicated the right shift key doesn't work. To just turn on speech it is the control key.

Hi,
I think what people are looking for is starting with or without
speech. The command that someone described (holding dot 2 or 3
during startup) is indeed the one that'll set the BN to speech
and/or braille mode when powered on.
For QT, try pressing CTRL or Shift (left shift) when powering the
unit on. I believe CTRL will turn speech off during power on and
Shift will allow speech but no braille (or it could be the other
way around).
Once the key sequence is verified, I'll include it as part of the
command summary (which will have its own email message later).
Cheers,
Joseph

If you have speech off, you should be able to turn on the Apex
without
hearing any speech.

Hi, I would also like to know how to turn on a QT without
speach. I know
how
to quickily turn it off once the Apex is turned on but there has
been
times
that I would prefer not to have even that quick amount of
speach.

Thanks,
From Shaz.

| Hi all,
|
|
|
| I remember on the old braille light and Braille and Speak
models,
starting
| them up whilst holding down the space bar was a very handy
method for
| keeping them silent. Is there an equivalent for the apex qt?
It is a
pain
to
| here, blah blah blah, resuming editing of, blah blah blah,
when I just
want
| to jot something quickly. It can also be jarring if with
colleagues.

|
| Thanks,
