Hi Debbi, thanks this is exactly what I was looking for. I have also testede it on my QT 32 and it works. Now I just have to remember it when I next want to power on without speach.
Thanks again for this answer. >From Shaz. To just turn on Braille it is the | left shift key. As Joseph indicated the right shift key doesn't | work. To just turn on speech it is the control key. | | Debby | | | ----- Original Message ----- | From: Joseph Lee <[email protected] | To: "Terri Pannett" <[email protected]>, | [email protected],[email protected], | [email protected] | Date sent: Sat, 19 May 2012 13:55:30 -0700 | Subject: Re: [Braillenote] starting up a braillenote apex qt | silently | | Hi, | I think what people are looking for is starting with or without | speech. The command that someone described (holding dot 2 or 3 | during startup) is indeed the one that'll set the BN to speech | and/or braille mode when powered on. | For QT, try pressing CTRL or Shift (left shift) when powering the | unit on. I believe CTRL will turn speech off during power on and | Shift will allow speech but no braille (or it could be the other | way around). | Once the key sequence is verified, I'll include it as part of the | command summary (which will have its own email message later). | Cheers, | Joseph | | ----- Original Message ----- | From: "Terri Pannett" <[email protected] | To: "Sharon S" <[email protected]>, "Matthew J" | <[email protected]>,<[email protected] | Date sent: Sat, 19 May 2012 09:35:56 -0700 | Subject: Re: [Braillenote] starting up a braillenote apex qt | silently | | If you have speech off, you should be able to turn on the Apex | without | hearing any speech. | | Terri, Amateur Radio Call Sign KF6CA. | ----- Original Message ----- | From: "Sharon S" <[email protected] | To: "Matthew J" <[email protected]>; | <[email protected] | Sent: Saturday, May 19, 2012 6:55 AM | Subject: Re: [Braillenote] starting up a braillenote apex qt | silently | | | Hi, I would also like to know how to turn on a QT without | speach.
