I would add that, regarding the apex as a display, you will have to
hit fn-b when in the terminal. This will let you enter braille with
the home row keys; the iPod can't do qt input from a braille device,
so this is your only option for input on the apex (though you could
also pair a bluetooth keyboard at the same time and use that). This
fn-b keystroke is only available in ks9.2 or later.

As to using the iPod, it takes practice and an acceptance that it will
be unlike any other device you have used. You may find it helpful to
read some primers I wrote. Go to http://www.applevis.com and do a
search for "ios primer". Let me know, off list, if you have questions
as you learn iOS, and I'll try to answer them.
