I'm not sure I understand your question but you definitely shouldn't hold off on getting the Apex based upon the time synchronization! :) Quite the contrary, there's nothing wrong with it at all and I think it's very useful. I was just curious about how it worked, that's all.

I don't yet have an Apex, and am more than a bit concerned about getting it for class work due to all the things I've been hearing as of late. But anyway, how long does it take to sync the time without a net connection? I know of another time source, but it's GMT and takes a full minute to broadcast a time signal.
