I have never used a five gig microdrive, but I have used and continue to
use compact flash cards. In earlier versions of the Keysoft software,
they seemed to drain large amounts of current from the battery.
However, I have not noticed a significant increase in battery usage, and
though I may not be getting the longevity I would otherwise receive, I
love having the storage capacity provided by compact flash, and to me
it's worth a small decrease in battery life.

Hello, Notesters,

On Friday, April 2nd, I added the 5 gig hard drive to my VN where it
permanently resides. I am far more pleased with the amazing increase of
storage capacity than I'm concerned with the minimal decrease in battery
life. I simply keep the unit plugged in until I need portability. But
then
everyone has his/her top priorities!
