I think the manual was referring to how much you could attach to the braille
note with those cards.

>Subject: [Braillenote] an interesting observation

>Hi, everyone. I came across something interesting in the manual last night
>while reading about the bookreader.
>It was talking about how there was only 16 mb on the braille note, but that
>one could upgrade to 48 mb or larger.
>I took interest in the or larger phrase. I don't think we have ever been
>able to upgrade to larger than the 48 mb. Otherwise, I would have probably
>done so.
>I thought it was kind of odd.
>Another interesting observation:
>If you pay the 425 dollars to get that 48 mb, all you end up with is 48 mb.
>This is kind of odd because, what happens to that 16 mb that was already on
>the board? You would have thought you would pay 425 dollars for the 48 mb
>upgrade but that you would get to keep your 16 making it 64 mb.
>So, in effect, that 425 dollars only buys you 32 mb since you had 16 mb anyway.
>There is something to think about when you are lying awake at night<grin>.
