What would be the point of a loner, if you had to send it back before
your original came home and send in the original before you got the
loner?  If PDI is striving for three-day turn-around on any unit, you
would be making lots of trips to the packing center and using the
Braille Note very little I think.

To get around the problem Paul described, PDI could require a person to
send in their original unit before they send out a loaner. PDI would
then keep a person's original VN/BN as collateral until the loaner is
returned. If someone fails to return a loaned unit, PDI could deduct the
cost of the replacement unit from their credit card.
