Note that MegaDots is now totally owned by Duxbury Systems Inc. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Todd Patkus Sent: Sunday, May 02, 2004 6:03 AM To: Braillenote List Subject: Re: [Braillenote] converting text file to a braille file
Mr. Gucukoglu (Smile!!!), Yes, I understand what you are saying about the OOOLLLDDD UK Braille system/rules and the other issues you brought up! I could read any books done in UK Braille without a problem. I am familiar with the Tiger but have not yet seen one! One day I will see one. You are correct that Duxbury itself is NOT even the only company under the sun that writes/compiles software for Braille translation! Look at MegaDots and a few others I do not remember, but Duxbury is still more better known than the others. You know Duxbury first appeared back in 1975 when the first programmer, who attended/graduated from Harvard, wrote his first software to work with the OOOLLLDDD and SSSLLLOOOWWW computers! Now, it is his sons who do the writing. Their father still helps them with some. You see I am about 45 minutes from them. Smile. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see what the mathematic/scientific notations look like on embossed paper from the Tiger!
