Terri, I'm afraid not too many users experience this problem. Like Don and Brenda, and I'm sure many others using version 5, we can open and read the .brf files we have downloaded from Braille.org, Bookshare.org and the NLS website just fine. I deal with .brf files often, both that need to be unzipped and those that are downloaded not in a compressed form, and they are not blank when I open them in either Keybook or Keyword. Try opening the file in Keyword and see if you get the same result. Also, I hope the problem doesn't have anything to do with memory space and file size, where related problems vary from unit to unit.
