Hi. That's what I am doing, putting a hard line break inbetween each verse and two in between each chapter. However, sometimes, some verses might have one or two soft line breaks in them. If you use read I or O, it might hit one of those soft line breaks rather than just tump to the hard line break.
The read 7 and 9 work great for umping between chapters.

paragraphs for chapters and the single lines for versus. If I use
paragraphs or double returns for verses, I won't have anything to use to
