I definitely would contact PDH before using any other charger, but hearing all this discussion makes me wonder why the units were made to need chargers and batteries that have to be purchased or installed by PDI. PDI, can you comment on this? Was there anything that caused you to decide against making battery and charger replacement something that only you could do, (perhaps because of possible damage to other parts of the unit by people who didn't know what it was), or was this something that wasn't an issue at the time the unit was developed?
