Matt. We don't know that windows ce as any kind of limitation on
downloading email. We'd have to try using another device to download a
similar number of messages. It could be a memory management problem or just
some bad coding. But to say that if it could have been fixed, it would
have, just doesn't make any sense. Every program out there has some bugs
and things that could be made to work better.
We'd have to hear from packmate users since that device also runs on ce and
the braille sense, which I believe also runs on CE to know if this was a CE
problem. It might also be interesting to download a large number of
messages on an Ipak from hp since they also use CE.
If every other unit other than the bn can download greater than 400
messages, we can conclude that there is a flaw in the program code. We
would also have to test this wirelessly, with a plug in network card and
via the internal modem to see if that changes anything.
Only then can we know if this is a drawback of using windows CE and not a
problem with keysoft as I suspect it is.

This is only speculation on my part, but I think if the problem could have
been fixed it would have been by now. The Braille Note family has a
weakness when it comes to downloading large amounts of mail. It could be
a limitation with WindowsCE. We can't say that PDI Humanware should fix
this or that, because we don't know what they are doing behind the scenes.
NO piece of technology is perfect. If a feature doesn't work well, or
doesn't work like you want it to, there are alternatives.

Hi. I believe that sbc offers web email access, but that certainly is quite
a bit more cumbersome than reading one's email normally through the email
client.
The problem with sbc's pages is there are tons of links on the page. You'd
have to use the find command to make this work.
Much better for PDI to acknowledge and fix the problem quickly.
