Hi, Paul.

No, I don't leave my flash card in my unit.

Interestingly, all the files erased were text files. There was no
announcement of the names of folders being erased, and so I have to conclude
that it has something to do with the upgrade, and that this problem will
re-surface with someone else, besides Beth and myself.

One really shouldn't have this worry, and I think that, should this occur
again to any BrailleNote user, a warning should be given in future editions of
the User Guide that this could happen.

In fact, I have no computer, and couldn't afford to buy one now, as I am well
and truly a pensioner who has come to this technology very late in life.

If you have any further, well reasoned, thoughts about how to erase a folder
which says it has no hidden files in it, but which also says, when trying to
erase it: "Zero files erased. Zero folders erased. Directory not empty.",
then I'd be delighted to hear from you. I must emphasise again, Paul, that I
stuck rigidly to the rules about the insertion of the flash card, and there was
absolutely no warning that the twenty-two folders in question were being
painlessly eliminated.

With these reflections, I'll leave you.

Regards,

Jim Taylor.
